Tour of Roses
About this tour
Roses was founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC, who came to the Iberian Peninsula to open up new markets. They set up two settlements on the Gulf of Roses: Empúries, near present-day La Escala, and Rhode, which became Roses. Many centuries on, this is now the sunny town that draws thousands of visitors a year. Tradition and the present day sit side by side on this walk of nearly two hours, in which, among plenty else, we explain what it means to be "tocat de la Tramuntana".
