Empúries Ruins

Empúries was a Greek city, founded in the 6th century BC and later Roman, located in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, in the Girona Alt Empordà region.

Shared by both Greeks and Romans, this jewel of the Ancient Age is located in the Bay of Roses, in the municipality of L'Escala. It is the oldest and most important Greco-Roman archaeological site in the Alt Empordà region.

In fact, here you will find the most important Greek remains on the Iberian Peninsula. Moreover, excavation work never ends, as it is estimated that 75% of the site is still underground.
