Medieval Costa Brava Tour
About this tour
Spend the day among the finest medieval towns of the Costa Brava, with a local guide who fills in the history and the odd story behind each one. Cobbled villages, wide views, and a slower pace: this is the medieval Costa Brava, the old towns of the Baix Empordà at their best.
Interest points
Peratallada
One of the best-preserved medieval towns in Girona. We share its history and a few stories, then leave you free time to wander at your own pace and look round the small local shops.
Pals
A fine medieval town on the main hill of the Empordanet, seen on a guided walk that covers its history, its way of life, and the odd curiosity along the way.
Begur
Our third stop, with a choice of two routes: the ruins of the medieval castle, or the trail of the indiano houses, built by locals who made their fortunes in the Americas and came home wealthy.
Sant Sebastiá Lighthouse
A natural viewpoint over this part of the coast, taking in Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc below. Time to catch the sea breeze while your guide sets the scene.
Calella de Palafrugell
Our last stop, a fishing village with a charm all its own. Walk the old camí de ronda, the coastal path once used by the Guardia Civil to watch the shoreline, have lunch by the water, or take a dip in the sea.
